We have finally moved back to Orlando...

After almost 2 years of waiting and praying, we have finally moved back to the Orlando area.We decided to rent out our house in Sarasota, and rent a home in the Tuskawilla area. We found a house the first day we came over looking, and are are very thankful for that. We have a great landlord, and a house that's about 50% larger than our house in Sarasota. We are about 4 miles from Granny (Pat's mom) and 3 miles from Nanny (Terrie's mom). In fact, we found a house right in the middle of our desired area.

We put the house, in Sarasota, on the rental market in early July, and waited to find a renter. We had already set a moving date of July 31st, so we were prepared to move before we rented, having faith it would rent soon. Moving day came, and without a renter, we forged ahead. The day we left, a family from Arizona came by and looked at it and decided to rent it from us! Talk about cutting it close. This past Monday, they moved in.

At the end of July (2009), it looks like we're going to be we will be moving for real this time! We've decided to rent out our house here in Sarasota. We're looking for a 4 bedroom, 2 bath home. Needs to be big enough to house at least 8 of us, maybe 9. (Hopefully we can entice Andrew to move back in with us!) We found a house right in the middle of our search area!

We're looking forward to getting to see everyone again on a regular basis, once we get settled!

Every house I've ever lived in...

Here are some pictures of every house I've ever lived in since I was born. Why did I do this? I have no idea. Enjoy.

Clovis, NM (1964-1967) I was born in Clovis NM, while my Dad was in the Air Force, and stationed there. This is the house we lived in there. Dad got stationed in FL after returning from Vietnam.
Satellite Beach, FL (1967-1970) We moved here from Clovis, NM, and we were in base housing, at Patrick AFB. Our house was actually the one next door, but Google Street View didn't go that far. All the houses looked exactly alike, so it doesn't matter. After Dad retired, we moved to Orlando, FL.
Orlando, FL (1970-1971) We lived here for a year, after Dad retired from the Air Force, and we waited for his position to open at the Post Office. We then moved to Casselberry, FL.
Casselberrry, FL (1970-1985) This is where most of my childhood was spent. Elementary, Middle, and High school. After I got married, we moved to Altamonte Springs, FL.
Altamonte Springs, FL (1985-1986) After we got married, we moved into an apartment in this complex (behind the trees.) After a year, we bought our first house in Winter Park, FL.
Winter Park, FL (1986-1995) Our first house we owned. We had 5 of the kids here, and had a hard time selling the place. We upgraded to a larger home in Sanford, FL.
Goldenrod, FL (1995 - 3 months) We lived here with Terrie's parents as our new house was being built in Sanford, FL.
Sanford, FL (1995-1997) Our custom home, built to our specs (somewhat) in Sanford FL. We were there for 2 years before we left for St. Pete.
Pinellas Park, FL (1997-1999) We rented this house in Pinellas Park, FL since we lost our shirts on the house in Sanford. We moved to St. Pete as we prepared to plant the church in Sarasota, FL.
St. Petersburg, FL (1999-July 2000) We house-sat for some friends as they had already moved to Sarasota for the church plant. We were only here a few months.
Sarasota, FL (July 2000-August 2009) This is the house we bought in Sarasota, and rented out to move back to Orlando.
Winter Park, FL (August 2009-now) This is the house we've rented in the Orlando area.

Welcome Home Vinny!

We welcomed home our newest arrival - Vinny. Well, at least for now, he's Vinny. Until we can come up with anything better. It's short for Vincent Van Gogh, because one of his ears is messed up, in a cute way.

 

A tribute to a book...

Today was a momentous event in the Henderson home school. As typically happens during the course of any school year, the kids will complete certain books, and we just put them away to be used later by who ever is coming up through the ranks. However, today a book retirement has occurred. A special book in our home school, "We Learn About God" from Rod and Staff, has been finished by Sean. Terrie has used this book, since our oldest (who is now 20) was learning to read. Now our little guy (7) years old has finished it. Thank you Rod and Staff for providing us with quality learning materials and well crafted materials to last for so long. This little book will be put away as a memento to our home schooling efforts.

Claire Got Her Ears Pierced Today!

Claire took the plunge and got her ears pierced today. We let the girls get the ears done on or after their 13th birthday. Here are the pics:
