Painting the House

2 Saturdays ago, we had plans to paint the house, but Tropical Storm Barry had other plans. We whined and pouted, but we did desperately needed the rain. We've been in a drought for some time now. So, we resceduled to the next Saturday (June 9.) Several guys (and their kids) came over to help us. What a blessing that was to us. We were able to get 90% of it done in 1 day. Amazing. It would have taken us several weekends to do that on our own, or a couple $thousand$ to pay someone to do it. The weather has hot, but moisture free. Now all we have is touching up, and some higher elevation things to paint. And how I love to get on that 16 foot extension ladder at the very top. Oh boy. Fun fun.

Dad's Day

In honor of dads (it takes more to be a dad that just a father), I've posted on YouTube a video my brother did for our Dad. It's very moving, and makes me cry every time I watch it. If after you've watched it, and your Dad is still around, give him a call and tell him you love him. Or better yet, go see him and give him a hug!

OK, now this is weird...

(As if the last post wasn't...)

Anyway, we're starting to gut the kitchen. So we've cleaned out the garage, so we could clear out the living room. Why? So we could move the kitchen into the living room. Now that's just weird. It's needed, but it's weird. How many times now I've gone to the silverware drawer for a fork or spoon, and it's empty. Oh! The silverware is in the living room. Makes sense.
